HOW BEST TO MANAGE YOUR LIFE, PASSION AND A 9-5

We might as well skip introductions and head straight to the point. Believe me when I say guys, I have learnt the hard way when it comes to managing my time and getting the job done. For some of us who manage a life, nine to five  and still want to run our passion, managing twenty four hours is an herculean task. Time just goes by before you can get a grip!

For months, I have tried to manage my job, life and blog and I admit I have failed woefully. So many things have suffered because of my inability to properly manage time . This is me admitting that time has messed up my impeccable plan.

I have been battling with this problem ( just like many of you who will get to this part of my rambling) but, that's till I sat down, took a pen and decided to get a solution. After my behind closed doors session, I say boldly that I have found a solution and I think you should hear it.

PROCRASTINATION IS A BITCH
"I will do it, I will do it, was how the teeth got rotten" - Igbo Proverb

Let's face it, we all have messed around with her and she has a way of making us pay dearly, even if you care not to admit. We all also know that part of dealing dearly but we can't help it. Tell yourself the  hard truth, procrastination never gets the job done.

If you must manage your time, you must first learn to clear out your cache. Never postpone a job or activity. Do it immediately it comes or at least start. The best part is, if you clear out tasks you have to handle immediately, you will realize you have more than enough spare time.

YOU NEED A DISTURBER
Time na money ohhh ***singing***

Yes! An alarm; both human and technified.  It is important that you get someone or something to remind you of what you have to do especially if you have a pile of unfinished work.

OGA, MADAM, FACE YOUR WORK!
Jack and Janet of all trade, Oga, Madam of none !

I am guilty of this one. I  like to feel I can multitask. I want to write, reply my messages and still catch every gist that passes by . Ol boy, It can't fit work oh . Turns out I spend hours on a job of forty-five minutes. This nearly ruined my budding career and I hope it hasn't ruined yours. People especially your superiors have to believe in you enough to entrust in your care huge responsibilities. One way to gain that trust is by your ability to not sleep on a task. It is imperative that your task is also completed with little or no mistakes. You simply cannot achieve the above if you are distracted. In other words, pick a struggle! Since we don't want to be too serious, you can work and laugh at jokes but NEVER add your opinion to the gist. Oga, face your work!

CREATE A PLOT
"Who says you cannot eat your cake and still have it "?

But please to be specific, a linear plot ( Google is your friend oh) . You must arrange your day in a chronological order, more like a TO-DO LIST complete with time and motivational quotes ( that helps a great deal) .Then, you also need a list of accomplishment ( your To Do list can serve) .

HOW DESPERATELY DO YOU NEED CASH AND SUCCESS?
Learn the act of being thirsty!

They are two different things so please do not confuse them. If you find yourself supplementing your non-fund generating passion with a paying job then you would understand. The job is indispensable but the passion sleeps with you and wakes with you. You must find a balance. Quick one, nobody says you can't have it both ways, the question is, how desperate are you ?

So, now that we all have the solution, are we ready to use it?
